Tata Motors recently launched yet another electric car, the Tata Tiago EV, in the Indian market for buyers looking for an affordable and compact electric hatchback in India. The Tiago EV sits below the Tigor EV and the Nexon EV in the brand’s electric portfolio and is priced from rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While there are no direct rivals to the Tiago EV right now, it will lock its horns with the upcoming Mahindra eKUV100 and upcoming compact MG electric car in India. Price And Variants
From what we know so far, the new Tata Tiago EV is available in 4 basic trims that are further divided based on the battery pack capacity, thus taking the total count to 7 variants. While the electric hatchback is priced from Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the range-topping variant on the other hand is priced at Rs 11.79 lakh. Powertrain And Performance
The new Tata Tiago EV will be offered with two battery pack options – 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery. The smaller battery is offered with a 60 bhp motor with a rated maximum torque output of 110 Nm while the larger battery pack is offered with a 74 bhp motor with a maximum torque output of 114 Nm. The claimed range from the 19.2 kWh battery pack is 250 km on a single charge while the larger battery pack offers a range of 315 km (claimed) on a single charge. The users can fast charge both the battery packs using a DC fast charger while a 3.3 kW AC charger will also be offered with the Tiago EV. The buyers can additionally opt for a 7.2 kW AC fast charger on select variants. The AC fast charged takes around 3 hours and 36 minutes to fully charge the battery pack.

Features
The new Tata Tiago EV also boasts an extensive features list for the buyers and has on offer features like cruise control, leatherette seats, a 7.0-inch infotainment system, electrically adjustable and foldable ORVMs, automatic AC, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlights, and more. On the safety front, this electric hatchback gets dual airbags, ABS, EBD, reverse parking sensors, seatbelt reminders, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and more. The standard Tata Tiago also scored an impressive four-star crash test rating by NCAP.

Exterior Styling Updates
The new Tata Tiago EV gets the same exterior styling as the ICE Tiago but gets many elements to differentiate it from the standard ICE versions. These changes include a new closed front grille, electric blue accents, and a new 14-inch hyper style wheel design. It will be available in five exterior colour options – Teal Blue, Daytona Grey, Pristine White, Midnight Plum and Tropical mist.
