With the automotive market now getting back into action after the COVID shutdown, many brands are currently working on expanding their portfolio with the launch of new cars and bikes in the Indian market. Hyundai India continues to dominate the market with its value for money and feature-rich offerings in the country and is soon expected to launch as many as seven new cars in the country. If you are also in the market to soon buy a new Hyundai car soon, here is everything you need to know about upcoming Hyundai Cars in India.
Upcoming Hyundai Cars In India
Hyundai Ioniq 5
The new Ioniq 5 will soon make its debut in the country and the bookings of the car will start in late December. The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 will be underpinned by the brand’s latest E-GMP platform (Electric Global Modular Platform). This new electric skateboard platform will be utilised to underpin different body styles and offers impressive flexibility and compatibility. Havings aid this, the new Hyundai Ioniq 5 will challenge cars like Kia EV6 in the country. The Korean carmaker will bring this EV via the CBU route in the Indian market and will position it as the most expensive electric car in its Indian line-up. The Indian-spec model is likely to be offered with a single motor setup with a claimed peak power and torque output of 169 hp and 350 Nm respectively. While the global spec version is offered with two battery pack options – 72.6 kWh and 58 kWh – the India-bound iteration is likely to be offered with the smaller battery pack that boasts a claimed range of 385 km on a single charge. On the features front, the new Ioniq 5 is likely to be offered with a multi-zone climate control system, push-button start, connected car tech, large touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument console, and more. Hyundai Kona Facelift
The Hyundai Kona was the first electric car in the brand’s line-up and was also one of the first electric SUVs to be launched in the Indian market. The brand will soon be launching the new Kona facelift in the country which is likely to be offered with a larger 64 kWh battery pack that will be coupled with a 204 hp motor. The new facelift version will also boast a new exterior styling that will be dominated by new closed off-grille, sleeker LED headlights, new alloy wheels, and a redesigned rear profile. The cabin will also receive a long list of updates including a new 10.25-inch infotainment system with features like Android Auto and Apple Carplay, BlueLink connected tech, sunroof, wireless charging, push-button start, and more. In addition to this, it is also likely to be offered with features like rear cross traffic assist, e-Call and safe exit warning in addition to many other features that will make it better than before. Once launched, the new Kona facelift will take on the rivals like the MG ZS EV, Tata Nexon EV, and the Mahindra XUV400 EV.

Hyundai Creta Facelift
The Hyundai Creta is currently one of the best-selling midsize SUVs in the country and gives strong competition to the rivals like the Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the newly launched Maruti Grand Vitara in the Indian market. The Korean carmaker will soon be launching a new facelift model for buyers looking for a fresh package and will offer it with an updated exterior styling, new features, and revised safety tech. Having said this, from what we know so far, the new Hyundai Creta will get a revised front bumper with a wider air inlet, repositioned new headlamps, new LED taillamps, new alloy wheels, and more. Inside, it is likely to be offered with new features like a 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, powered front seats, a cooled glove box, and more. It is also likely to be offered with an ADAS safety suite that comprises of features like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic avoidance assist and autonomous emergency braking with forward collision avoidance. No major changes are expected to be made to the powertrain options and the new Creta facelift is expected to be offered with same engine options – a 115bhp, 1.5L 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol, a 115bhp, 1.5L turbo-diesel and a 140bhp, 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol. Transmission choices will include a 6-speed manual, a CVT automatic, a 6-speed torque convertor automatic, a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic and an iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission).

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Facelift
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is currently the most affordable hatchback in the brand’s line-up and offers an affordable and VFM package for buyers. The brand is soon likely to launch the new facelift iteration of the Grand i10 Nios in the country to take on the rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Tata Tiago in the Indian market. For starters, the new Grand i10 Nios facelift model is likely to be offered with minor styling updates including an updated front fascia and new alloy wheels. Inside, the new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios facelift is likely to offer features like a large infotainment system, semi-digital instrument console, wireless charging, Arkamys premium sound system, automatic climate control with eco coating, adjustable rear headrests, push button start/stop system, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and more. It will continue to be offered with three engine options – .2L naturally aspirated petrol (83bhp/114Nm), 1.0L turbo petrol (110bhp/172Nm) and 1.2L petrol CNG fuel (69bhp/95Nm) options. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT unit. Reports suggest that the new Grand i10 Nios facelift will receive a minor price hike when compared to the present iteration which for the record is currently priced from Rs 5.43 lakh (Ex-showroom, Delhi).

New-Gen Hyundai Verna
The Hyundai Verna is currently one of the strongest offerings in the midsize sedan segment and challenges the rivals like the Honda City, VW Virtus, and the Skoda Slavia in India. The brand will soon be launching the next-gen iteration in the country that will not only offer a bigger and more spacious cabin, but in addition to this, will also boast a new exterior design language, new features, and updated powertrain options. From what we know so far, it takes inspiration from the new-gen Elantra and will boast the brand’s new Sensuous Sportiness design language. Furthermore, it is also likely to boast many new features including features like a new infotainment system, updated dashboard layout, wireless charger, automatic climate control, and more. On the safety front, it is likely to feature ADAS tech that comprises of features like autonomous emergency braking, collision warning & avoidance system, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, high-beam assist, adaptive cruise control and others. It is also likely to get a new turbo petrol engine and will continue to get the 1.5L NA petrol and 1.5L diesel engines with similar power and torque output. Hyundai Stargazer MPV
With 7-seater MPVs now getting extremely popular in the country, Hyundai is soon likely to launch the new Stargazer MPVP in India. While this model is already on sale in the Indonesian market, it is yet to make its Indian debut. It shares its underpinnings with the recently launched Kia Carens in the market and will be offered with a long list of features and safety tech. If reports are to be believed, the new Hyundai Stargazer is likely to be offered with features like a wireless charger, automatic climate control, push-button start, digital instrument console, new sunroof, and more. It is also expected to get an ADAS safety suite that gets features like autonomous emergency braking, collision warning & avoidance system, blind spot monitoring, lane keep assist, high-beam assist, adaptive cruise control and others. Hyundai Ai3 Mini SUV
Hyundai recently shared its plan to launch a new mini-SUV in the country to take on the rivals like the Tata Punch and the Citroen C3 in the Indian market. To be positioned as the most affordable SUV in the brand’s line-up, this new mini-SUV is expected to be based on the same platform that underpins the Grand i10 Nios. Furthermore, this new SUV is also likely to get similar powertrain options as the Grand i10 Nios and will offer a practical and comfortable package for the buyers. Internally codenamed the Ai3 Mini SUV, this new car will boast features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto & Apple CarPlay support, reverse camera, power windows, automatic AC, electrically adjustable ORVMs and others. From what we know so far, this new mini-SUV is likely to be priced from Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
