New Volkswagen Tiguan Exclusive Edition Launched in India: Looks Dapper Now?

Volkswagen is known for introducing limited editions of its models at regular intervals. This time around, the German carmaker has launched the new Volkswagen Tiguan Exclusive Edition in India, and it is priced at Rs 33.50 lakh, ex-showroom. While it may make many think of comparing the price with that of the regular model’s, there’s a catch. The company is not charging any extra premium for the limited edition over the cost of a regular Volkswagen Tiguan. However, the Exclusive Edition of the Tiguan does get a few extras that make it look exciting and of course exclusive.

The exclusivity comes in the form of styling here with new 18-inch alloy wheels. The new design for the rim looks fresh and smart. On the contrary, the regular version of the Volkswagen Tiguan comes with boring-looking alloy wheels. The twin-spoke design of the rims goes well with the Tiguan’s straight lines and understated elegance. With this changes, it certainly looks better now.

Furthermore, the Volkswagen Exclusive Edition will only be available in two paint schemes – Pure White and Oryx White. Alongside, the Exclusive Edition of the Tiguan gets Dynamic hub caps and load sill protection around the tail. An ‘Exclusive Edition’ badging is also added on b-pillars.

Over to the inside, changes include the addition of new aluminium pedals and Exclusive Edition badging at various places. Well, the interior layout and theme remain the same here. It continues to get the 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, three-zone climate control, ambient lighting, panoramic sunroof, six airbags, hill start assist, ESC, ABS, hill descent control and more.

Mechanically, there’s no change that the Volkswagen Tiguan boasts of. It continues with the 2.0L TSI motor. The turbocharged 4-cylinder power plant is capable of pushing out a rated power output of 190 hp and 320 Nm of max torque. The engine is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Tiguan gets an AWD system to send power to all four wheels. The SUV boasts a claimed mileage of 12.65 kmpl. Talking of rivals, the Volkswagen Tiguan rubs shoulders with the likes of Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircross, Hyundai Tucson and more in the Indian market.
