BMW is aggressively updating its lineup in the country and recently launched the new BMW XM at a starting price of Rs 2.60 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi)
The new BMW XM was recently launched in the country and retains a similar design as the concept version and features strong exterior styling elements. It was first previewed as a concept in late 2021 and is BMW M’s second-ever bespoke model after the mid-engine M1. While the deliveries of the new BMW XM SUV will begin in India from May 2023, here are all the details you need to know about this new SUV.
BMW XM Launched In India
To start with, the new BMW XM is the first car in the brand’s M Model to feature a plug-in hybrid powertrain that gets a 4.4L twin-turbo V8 engine that churns out a combined power output of 653 bhp while the maximum torque output stands at 800 Nm. This engine comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox that channels power to all four wheels via the M xDrive system. The more powerful version of the XM, the Label Red, will soon be launched in the country and will make its debut in September 2023. From what we know so far, this new iteration of the XM will boast a peak power output of 748 bhp while the maximum torque output stands at 1000 Nm.

The brand boasts a claimed 0-100 kmph timing of just 4.3 seconds while the top speed of the car is electronically limited to a top speed of 250 km/h. The users can also opt for the optional M Driver’s package which increases the top speed to 270 km/h. Furthermore, the new BMW XM can run up to 88 km purely in EV mode. It also boasts features like adaptive M suspension, electronically controlled dampers and a new 48 V system.

On the design front, the new BMW XM is dominated by a massive, illuminated kidney grille that features gold treatment, a split headlamp design, 21-inch wheels, large air intakes, slim L-shaped rear lights, and the latest generation M Sports brakes with black callipers. In addition to this, the buyers can also opt for 22-inch or 23-inch M light alloy wheels. Inside, you will see a similar dashboard layout as the iX and i4. It also gets an M lounge rear seating setup with more focus on occupant comfort.

On the features front, it gets a 12.3-inch digital instrument console and a 14.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the latest iDrive 8 software. The SUV gets ADAS tech, 4-zone climate control and the Harman Kardon surround sound system. Having said this, the ADAS tech will offer safety features like adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitor, lane keep assist, rear cross-traffic avoidance assist and autonomous emergency braking with forward collision avoidance.

The car comes with a standard two-year warranty for unlimited kilometres. Repair Inclusive can extend warranty benefits from the third year of operation to the maximum fifth year without any mileage limitation. The high-voltage battery is covered by a warranty valid for eight years or up to 120,000 kilometres.

The brand also launched the new M340i in the Indian market with a 3.0L inline-six turbocharged petrol engine that churns out a peak power output of 374 bhp and a maximum torque output of 500 Nm. This engine is also offered with an 8-speed automatic gearbox and boasts a claimed 0-100 kmph timing of 4.4 seconds. A long list of features are offered with this new performance sedan.
