The Tata Tigor-rivaling Hyundai Aura CNG is currently one of the best-selling CNG sedans in India
With rising petrol prices and limited diesel vehicles in the Indian market, the buyers are shifting towards CNG cars for their impressive fuel economy and cheap running costs. While most of the CNG hatchbacks have no or very less usable boot space, the CNG sedans in India offer better practicality. CNG sedans not only offer a spacious cabin to the buyers but in addition to this, also offer a decently sized boot to be used by the users. The Hyundai Aura CNG and the Maruti Dzire CNG are currently one of the best CNG cars in the country and give stiff competition to each other in the already competitive segment and price bracket. Here is a detailed Hyundai Aura CNG vs Maruti Dzire CNG comparison where we compare the specs, features, price, and more.
Hyundai Aura CNG Vs Maruti Dzire CNG Design and Dimensions
The Hyundai Aura gets a busy and rather not so conventional design that does grow over you post a short period. The front fascia is dominated by a 3d chrome radiator grille with prominent LED drls on either side. The swept headlamps not only look sharp but also merge well with the overall design. The bumper too feels busy and gives the Aura a unique character. The side profile may not look too proportionate but does not look bad either. The rear is dominated by large taillights and in all, the Aura does look decent but may not appeal to all the buyers in the segment. Just like most other sub-4m cars in India, the Aura too measures 3995 mm in length while the width and height are measured at 1680 mm and 1520 mm respectively. The build quality is impressive and so are the panel gaps.

The side profile too looks proportionate while the rear design with its subtle styling elements makes the Dzire a better-looking sedan when compared to the Aura. The car is as long as the Hyundai Aura but is 55 mm wider than the latter. A quick dimension comparison is given below in the table:

Engine, Gearbox, and Performance
Powering the Hyundai Aura CNG is the 1.2L four-cylinder Kappa CNG engine that is also offered with the Grand i10 Nios CNG. This engine churns out a peak power and torque output of 69 ps @ 6000 rpm and 95.2 Nm @ 4000 rpm respectively. This engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox while no automatic gearbox is on offer with the CNG iteration of the Aura. The performance is great but is the refinement that makes the Aura CNG a great car for everyday usage. The gear too is smooth to operate while the clutch is light and has a short travel.

Final Verdict
The Hyundai Aura CNG is currently one of the most practical cars in the segment and not only offers a premium cabin but in addition to this, also boasts a refined and reliable powertrain. While it may not impress everyone with its design, the build quality and fit-finish levels are definitely better than the Dzire CNG. The Maruti Dzire CNG on the other hand packs in a more spacious cabin, better boot space, and better performance in addition to better mileage. The price tag of the Dzire CNG however makes it lose points when it comes to VFM but in all, both these cars are great and offer the buyers an extremely pleasing package.
