BMW India has launched the BMW X6 50 Jahre M Edition model in the country. This celebratory edition of the SUV has been introduced at a starting price of Rs 1.11 crore, ex-showroom New Delhi. This is BMW’s ninth 50 Jahre M Edition model in the Indian market and it celebrates this German car manufacturer’s performance-oriented M division’s (BMW M GmbH) 50th anniversary. The BMW X6 50 Jahre M Edition will be imported to India as a completely built unit (CBU). It will be available in limited numbers. Bookings for the same are now open online exclusively on BMW India’s official website. It is worth mentioning that as a part of its ongoing celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the company’s M division, BMW India planned to launch 10 special edition ‘M’ models in the country this year.

Having already launched nine models, the final 50 Jahre M Edition will be rolled out in the Indian market soon. Talking about the BMW X6 50 Jahre M Edition, it gets several cosmetic updates inside and out. For instance, it gets a larger version of BMW’s signature kidney grille. What’s further interesting is that the grille is finished in a gloss black shade and is illuminated as well. The SUV also features massive 20-inch alloy wheels with red M Sport brake callipers.

BMW has added the iconic M Emblem along with the ‘50 Years of M’ door projector inspired by the classic ‘BMW Motorsport’ logo as well. It comes with BMW’s Laserlight that offers selective beam and non-dazzling high beam function with a range of around 500 meters. The BMW X6 50 Jahre M Edition is available in only two colour shades. They are Black Sapphire Metallic and M Carbon Black Metallic paint schemes.

On the inside, the BMW X6 50 Jahre M Edition gets a four-zone AC, Harman Kardon surround sound system and M leather steering wheel along with sports seats. It gets a host of features including a large touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay, heated and cooled cup holders, wireless charging, ambient lighting, an automatic tailgate, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and many more.

Mechanically, this special edition version of BMW’s coupe SUV remains identical to its standard counterpart. Powering the new celebratory edition version of the BMW X6 is a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder petrol engine that churns out 340 hp of maximum power and 450 Nm of peak torque at 1,500 – 5,000 RPM. This SUV accelerates from 0-100 kmph in 5.5 seconds and it can attain a top speed of 250 km/h. The engine comes paired with an 8-speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission.
