The upcoming Gurkha 5-Door will take on the rivals like the Mahindra 5-door and the Maruti Jimny 5-door which will soon make their Indian debut
The Force Gurkha 5-door has been spied on tests on multiple occasions in the Indian market and will soon hit the showrooms in the country. Ahead of the launch in the Indian market, the interiors of the new Force Gurkha 5-door were recently spied on for the first time and revealed significant details. If you are also planning to buy the new upcoming Force Gurkha 5-door, here are all the details that you should check out.
Force Gurkha 5-Door Interiors Spied
For starters, the dashboard layout of the new 5-door version is almost similar to the 3-door version and retains the same dark grey colour scheme. Likewise, it also continues to get the same touchscreen infotainment system, similar manual AC setup, and centre console along with front power window controls.

Having said this, from what we know so far, the new Gurkha 5-door is likely to be offered with multiple seating configurations including a bench or captain’s chairs for the second row as well as opposite-facing jump sets or captain’s chairs for the third row. The unit which was recently spied in the country came with a bench seat in the second row and a front-facing captain’s chair in the third.
The tailgate setup remains similar and the SUV continues to get the same spare wheel position at the rear. Furthermore, it gets a similar front fascia design with similar round headlights, a large grille and a prominent bumper design.

Having said this, the new Force Gurkha 5-Door will be based on the updated C in C platform and is likely to have a 400 mm longer wheelbase. In addition to this, it will continue to be powered by the same Mercedes-sourced 2.6L diesel engine. This engine delivers peak power and torque output of hp and Nm respectively and is offered only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. While the Gurkha 3-door is offered with a 4X4 setup as standard, the five-door iteration is likely to be offered with 4X4 and 4×2 variants.
For those wondering, the Gurkha Five-Door will continue to get a similar off-road gear as the three-door version. For those opting for the 4X4 setup, the new Gurkha is likely to feature low-range gearbox and locking differentials.

If reports are to be believed, the new Gurkha 5-door is expected to make its debut in the next few weeks in India. It will take on the rivals like the Mahindra Thar 5-door and the Maruti Jimny 5-door that will make its debut sometime in 2023.
The new Maruti Jimny was recently spied in India and is likely to be offered as a lightweight compact off-roader in the country. From what we know so far, the new Jimny will get a 1.5L K15C petrol engine and is likely to be the most affordable 4X4 SUV in India. More details however are yet to be shared by the brand.
