The Sonet CNG was recently spied testing in the country and will take on the rivals like the upcoming Maruti Brezza CNG
The Kia Sonet is currently the most affordable SUV in the brand’s line-up and is offered with a long list of features and an aggressive exterior design language. The Sonet is one of the strongest rivals to the SUVs like the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, and more. While the Sonet is already offered with three engine options, the brand will soon be launching a new CNG powertrain for the buyers. 2023 Kia Sonet CNG Launch In India Soon
For those wondering, CNG is currently being looked at as one of the most practical and affordable alternatives to diesel and a number of brands are launching and updating their CNG portfolios in the country. Following the trend, Kia India is also said to be working on two new CNG cars that will soon be launched in the country.

One of the two upcoming Kia CNG cars in India is the Sonet CNG which was recently spied testing without wearing any major camouflage. The test mule which was recently spied testing featured a sticker reading “On Test By ARAI”. The new Sonet CNG is likely to be offered with a turbo engine which is expected to be offered with a manual gearbox option. The brand might also launch an automatic CNG version of the SUV. At the same time, Maruti Suzuki is also said to be working on the new Brezza CNG which will make its debut in the coming months. The Brezza is likely to be offered with the same 1.5L Bi-Fuel CNG engine that is also offered with the Ertiga CNG.

From what we know so far, the new Kia Sonet CNG will be around Rs 1 lakh more expensive than the standard petrol version. The 1.0L turbo petrol engine delivers a peak power output 118 bhp and a maximum torque output of 172 Nm. The power output of the CNG version will be slightly lower. Other than this, the 1.2L NA petrol engine delivers a peak power output of 83 PS and a maximum torque output of 115 Nm. Furthermore, the diesel engine on the other hand is offered in two versions with a claimed peak power output of 100 PS and 115 Ps respectively.
