Maruti recently launched the new Baleno in the Indian market to take on the rivals like the Tata Altroz, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz. While the Baleno offers an all-new cabin, fresh design, and more features, the prices of a few variants are similar to its sibling, the Maruti Suzuki Swift. Powering the Baleno and the Swift is the same 1.2L K-series petrol engine that churns out 66 kW @ 6000 rpm and 113 Nm of peak torque output. The performance from this motor is decent while the refinement levels too are impressive and better than the rivals. It is however the Swift that offers slightly better performance and dynamics when compared to the Baleno. Both, the Baleno Delta and the Swift VXI offer a similar package to the buyers and are powered by similar powertrain options. The features list too is similar but it is the Baleno that offers a more spacious and comfortable cabin to the buyers. The build quality is comparable. The Swift VXI however is significantly more affordable than the Baleno but it is the Baleno that offers a slightly better package to the buyers.
