Here is a look at the sales performance of Maruti Suzuki in August 2022 with details of hot-sellers Alto, Swift, WagonR, Baleno, etc
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the country’s highest-selling carmaker since its inception, has reported a sale of 165,173 units in the month of August 2022. With this, it sold a total of 137,537 units in the domestic market, 21,2481 units in the export market and 6,155 units for other carmakers. It is important to note here that the shortage of semi-conductor led to a minor impact on production, especially in the local market. However, the carmaker asserts that all possible measures were taken to minimise the impact of the global chip shortage.

Last month, Maruti Suzuki produced 22,162 units of entry-level offerings, Alto and S-Presso. This is slightly more than the 20,461 units manufactured in August 2021. It produced 71,557 units of its range of compact cars, which comprises Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, WagonR. This is significantly more than the 45,577 units produced in the same month last year. For the mid-size segment, the carmaker manufactured 1,516 units of the Ciaz, which is significantly lower than the 2,146 units produced in August 2021. It also produced 26,392 units of Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross, XL6 , which was slightly more than the 24,337 units sold in the same month last year. Production of Ecco stood at 11,999 units, up by 1,333 units compared to August 2021. Meanwhile, the carmaker even produced 3,371 units of the Super Carry LCV, again up from 2,588 units produced in the same month last year. Overall, its domestic sales stood at 134,166 units, up from 103,187 units produced in August 2021.

Maruti Grand Vitara
In the coming days, Maruti Suzuki will re-launch the Grand Vitara brand in the form of an all-new SUV that will become the first full-hybrid model from the popular carmaker. The strong hybrid petrol car will be sold at the carmaker’s NEXA network. Underpinning the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is the same Global-C platform that even provides the base for the Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder. Essentially, the HyRyder and the new Grand Vitara are badge-engineered produced that will be retailed by their respective carmakers. The new models will challenge the likes of Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos. The highlights of the features list of the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara include automatic climate control, a large touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, a large sunroof, and more. Even the engine options will be shared with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. The motor options for both the SUVs include a 1.5L smart-hybrid K15C petrol engine that comes from the Suzuki family and a 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine from the house of Toyota.
