With the demand for CNG cars rising in the country, Maruti Suzuki India launched yet another CNG car in India, the Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG. The Swift CNG is the seventh CNG car in the brand’s portfolio and is priced from a starting price of Rs 7.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Swift CNG takes on the rivals like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG and the Tata Tiago CNG. 2022 Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG
CNG Powertrain
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG will be offered with the same 1.2L, four-cylinder petrol engine that powers the petrol iterations of the hatchback. In the CNG iteration, this engine churns out 77 hp and 98.5 Nm of peak torque output. For those wondering, the same engine churns out 90 hp and 113 Nm of maximum torque in the petrol mode. This 1.2L Bi-Fuel CNG engine comes mated to a five-speed manual gearbox as standard. These specs make the new Maruti Swift CNG one of the most powerful CNG cars in the country.

Fuel Economy
The Maruti Swift petrol impressed each one of us with its claimed mileage and the CNG iteration is no different. While the Swift petrol boasts a maximum claimed mileage of almost 22.5 kmpl depending on the variant you opt for, the 2022 Maruti Suzuki CNG on the other hand comes with a claimed mileage of 30.90 km/kg. These fuel economy figures make the Maruti Swift CNG one of the most fuel-efficient CNG hatchbacks in the country.

Updated Suspension
To handle the extra weight of the CNG kit, the new Maruti Swift CNG also comes equipped with an updated suspension setup. This new suspension setup offers a more balanced ride quality and also ensures that the additional weight of the CNG kit does not affect the ground clearance of the Swift CNG.

Variants And Price
The new Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG will be offered in two trim options – Swift VXI CNG and Swift ZXI CNG. The Swift VXI CNG is priced from Rs 7.77 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) while the Swift ZXI CNG on the other hand is priced at Rs 8.45 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Maruti Swift CNG is also the only CNG car in the country that is also available on a subscription basis. The brand is currently offering the new Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG on subscription from a starting price of Rs 16,499 per month.

The Maruti Suzuki Swift is available with a long list of features like LED tail lights, alloy wheels, leather-wrapped steering wheel, multi-information MID, 17.78 cm Touchscreen Smartplay studio, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Navigation system, AHA platform, electrically operated ORVM, push-button start, automatic climate control, height adjustable driver’s seat, and more.
