It’s been a while since the new Hyundai i20 made its global debut and the Korean carmaker is soon expected to launch the mid-life facelift model of the new i20. This new upcoming facelift iteration was recently spied testing and features a long list of cosmetic updates, new features, and new alloy wheels. What To Expect?
For starters, the new Hyundai i20 facelift is likely to be offered with an updated front fascia that will be dominated by a new front grille, tweaked front bumper design, new styling elements, and sleeker headlights. It is also likely to be offered with new fog lamp cowls and stronger character lines on the hood. The side profile is also expected to get some updates including a new alloy wheel design while the rear profile is likely to feature updated LED tail lights, new rear bumpers, and other small updates.

Inside, the new Hyundai i20 facelift model is likely to get some updates like new interior trims, updated colour schemes, revised centre console styling, and an updated digital instrument console. On the features front, the new Hyundai i20 facelift is likely to be offered with features like a wireless mobile charger, auto climate control, steering mounted controls, new infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, push-button start, cooled storage console, electrically operated ORVMs, ventilated front seats, Hyundai BlueLink connected tech, and more.

Having said this, from what we know so far, the new i20 facelift is likely to be offered with only two engine options – 1.2L NA petrol and 1.0L turbo petrol. Likewise, similar gearbox options as the present iterations are likely to be carried forward. Unlike before, the new i20 facelift will no longer will be offered with the 1.5L diesel engine. Reports also suggest that the new i20 facelift might also be offered with a CNG powertrain option.

The new Hyundai i20 facelift is likely to go on sale only after mid-2023 and will give strong competition to the rivals like the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz, Toyota Glanza, and Toyota Altroz. Having said this, the Korean carmaker is also gearing up to launch the new Hyundai Creta facelift and the next-gen Hyundai Verna in the Indian market. Both these cars are likely to be showcased at the upcoming Auto Expo 2023.

From what we know so far, the new Hyundai Creta facelift is likely to be offered with an updated front fascia, new features and better safety tech including the ADAS suite. As part of the ADAS suite, the new Creta will be offered with safety features like Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, Auto High Beam Assist, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, and Proactive Driving Assist. Furthermore, other features like ventilated front seats, powered driver’s seat, 360-degree camera, digital instrument console, and updated infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
