Royal Enfield will soon be launching more than 3 bikes in its 650 cc portfolio in the coming few months including the Himalayan 650 and Scrambler 650
Royal Enfield currently is enjoying strong demand in the Indian market and is working aggressively on expanding its Indian portfolio with the launch of many new 650 cc and 450 cc bikes in the market. Having said this, the brand is said to be working on the new Himalayan 650 and the Scrambler 650 that will soon be launching in the market. Here are all the details you need to know about the upcoming Royal Enfiled Himalayan 650 and the Scrambler 650 in the Indian market.
Royal Enfield Scrambler 650
The new Scrambler 650 was recently spied testing in the country and featured heavy testing equipment and accessories. The production-ready version featured rotary-style switchgear that we will also get with the new Super Meteor 650. Furthermore, the bike is also expected to get a Tripper navigation pod which might be offered as an optional add-on. On the design front, it is likely to get a braced handlebar, wire-spoke rims with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres, and unique side panels. It also gets USD forks at the front along with an adjustable rear suspension setup. The ground clearance is also expected to be much better than other 650 cc offerings in the market.

From what we know so far, this new bike is likely to launch somewhere in 2023 and will be underpinned by the same platform that also underpins the new Shotgun 650. Needless to say, it will be offered with the same 648 cc parallel-twin petrol engine that churns out a peak power and torque output of 47 bhp and 52 Nm respectively. This engine comes mated to a six-speed manual gearbox and boasts strong performance and commendable long-term reliability.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 650
The RE Himalayan is one of the most capable ADV bikes in the market right now and attracts a long list of buyers with its strong and comfortable package. For those wondering, the present iteration of the bike is offered with a 411 cc single-cylinder petrol engine that churns out a peak power output of 24.3 bhp while the maximum torque output stands at 32 Nm. Having said this, the brand is said to be working on two new iterations of the new Royal Enfield Himalayan which will be based on the 450 cc platform and the 650 cc platform respectively.

If reports are to be believed, the new Himalayan 650 will make its debut somewhere in 2024 and will be underpinned by the same platform that underpins other upcoming bikes in the 650 cc range. In addition to this, it is also likely to boast a larger footprint and will measure around 250 kgs. Just like the present iteration of the bike, the upcoming bike will be offered with a robust and strong suspension setup while it will continue to boast a high ground clearance and commendable capabilities. More detail will be soon shared by the brand ahead of the official launch in the country somewhere in 2024. The brand is also working on a new Himalayan 450 which is likely to make its debut in 2023 and will offer an improved and more powerful package when compared to the existing iteration of the bike.
