The Mahindra XUV700-rivaling Tata Safari and the Tata Harrier are not only one of the best-looking SUVs but also boast a comfortable and a premium cabin
The Tata Harrier and the Tata Safari are currently one of the most talked about Tata cars in the country and offer a strong package for the buyers. Both SUVs are currently being offered with a 2.0L diesel engine only that can be had either with a 6-speed manual or a Hyundai-sourced 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Indian carmaker is currently said to be working on a new 2.2L diesel engine for its bigger SUVs and here are all the details you need to know about the upcoming Tata 2.2L diesel engine.
Tata New Diesel Engine
For starters, this new 2.2L diesel engine will comply with the BS6 norms and is likely to be offered with Lean NOx Traps (LNT) that help control NOx (Nitrogen Oxides) emissions from lean burn motors. This new unit will also feature Diesel Particular Filter (DPF). This system traps particulate matter from the diesel engine and stores exhaust soot to reduce emission levels. It is also expected that this new 2.2L diesel engine will utilise AdBlue, a non-toxic exhausts fluid to reduce NOx emissions.
