The Tata Tiago EV was recently launched in the country as India’s smallest and most affordable electric car in India and is priced from Rs 8.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). While the deliveries of the car will start only after January 2023, the bookings are currently open for a token amount of Rs 21,000. Having said this, the Indian carmaker recently confirmed that the Tata Tiago EV test drives will begin only after mid-December 2022 and here are all the details that you should check out about this cheapest electric car in India.
Tata Tiago EV Test Drives In India
The Indian carmaker recently received over 10,000 bookings in one day for the newly launched Tiago EV in India. During the launch, Tata shared that the deliveries of the new Tiago EV will begin in January 2023 and the production of the larger 24 kWh battery pack versions will be prioritised in the first phase.

For those wondering, the new Tata Tiago EV will be offered with two battery pack options – 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh. While the smaller battery pack offers a claimed range of 250 km, the larger battery pack on the other hand delivers a claimed range of 315 km on a single charge. Both the battery pack power the Tata Ziptron high-voltage setup that comes with a single-motor front-wheel-drive system. The peak power output from the smaller battery pack version stands at 61 hp and the maximum torque output stands at 110 Nm. The larger battery pack on the other hand delivers a claimed peak power and torque output of 74 hp and 114 Nm respectively.
In addition to this, the Tiago EV is also capable of fast charging, and both the battery packs can be charged up to 80 per cent from 10 per cent using a 50 kW fast charger. On the features front, the new Tiago EV will be offered with features like rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and leatherette upholstery.
