A number of cars made their Indian debut recently and offer a VFM and feature-rich package for the buyers. The Maruti Alto is currently one of the most affordable hatchbacks in the country and registered a total sales volume of 24,844 units in September 2022. The car registered a 104.60 per cent YOY growth and gives strong competition to the rivals. The new Alto is offered with two powertrain options – petrol and CNG bi-fuel.
Maruti WagonR
The Maruti WagonR offers a VFM and a comfortable package for the buyers and retained the second spot on this list of the top 10 best-selling cars in India. The new WagonR registered a total sales volume of 20,078 after registering a 163.08 per cent YOY growth when compared to the same month last year.

Maruti Baleno
The Maruti Baleno is currently the best-selling premium hatchback in the country and gives strong competition to the rivals like the Toyota Glanza, Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. A total of 19369 units of the new Baleno were sold in India in September 2022. unlike a few of the rivals, the Maruti Baleno is only offered with a petrol engine option while the brand is said to be working on a CNG version of the hatchback that will make its debut soon in the country.
Maruti Brezza
Maruti recently launched the new Brezza in India to challenge the rivals like the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, etc. The new Brezza not only offers a new exterior design but in addition to this, it also gets a new cabin and a more extensive features list. It is only offered with a 1.5L K15C petrol engine and is the best-selling compact SUV in India. The brand sold a total of 15,445 units in the country in September 2022 after registering a YOY growth of 724.17 per cent.

Tata Nexon
The Tata Nexon is the best-selling Tata car in India and registered a total growth of 76.81 per cent YOY growth after 14,518 units of the SUV were sold in September 2022. The Nexon is also one of the safest cars in India and is offered with petrol, diesel, and electric powertrain options.
Hyundai Creta
The Hyundai Creta is the best-selling SUV in the midsize SUV segment and chllanegs the rivals like the Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq and VW Taigun. The Korean carmaker sold a total of 12,866 units in the country in September 2022. For those wondering, only 8,193 units of the SUV were sold in September last year.

Maruti EECO
The Maruti EECO registered a total sales volume of 12,697 units in September 2022 and is offered as a practical and capable offering in the segment. There are no direct rivals to the Maruti EECO and it is offered with petrol and CNG powertrain options.
Tata Punch
Tata launched the new Punch a few months ago and positioned it as one of the most capable micro-SUVs in the country. A total of 12,251 units of the Punch were sold in India in September 2022, thus making it the second-best-selling Tata car in India.

Maruti Swift
The Maruti Swift reported a 375.71 per cent YOY growth after a total of 11,988 units of the hatchback were sold in the country. It gives stiff competition to the rivals like the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios in India and is offered with petrol as well as CNG powertrain option for the buyers. For those wondering, a total of 9,468 units were sold in September 2021.
Hyundai Venue
The Hyundai Venue is the most affordable Hyundai SUV in India and registered a total growth of 39.24 per cent YOY growth after 11,033 units of the SUV were sold in the country. The Hyundai Venue is offered with three engine options – a 1.2L NA petrol engine, a 1.0L turbocharged petrol engine, and a 1.5L diesel engine. The Venue gives strong competition to the rivals like the Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet, etc.
