The Ather 450X-rivalling Ola Electric topped the two-wheeler sales chart in September 2022 in the Indian market
With electric vehicles now getting popular in India, we are now seeing a clear rise in the total sales volume of EVs in the country and a lot of brands are now launching new electric two-wheelers, cars, and commercial vehicles in the country. Ola Electric came out to be the best-selling electric scooter in the country after registering a total sales volume of 9634 units. For a quick comparison, the brand sold only 3421 units in August 2022 in India. The recently launched Ola S1 electric scooter was one of the best-selling scooters in the brand’s line-up. More affordable products and lucrative discounts and offers helped the brand dominate the EV market in the country.
Okinawa stood on the second sport and sold a total of 8278 units in September 2022. The company however registered a negative growth this month as a total of 8554 units were sold in the country in August 2022. Hero Electric on the other hand also had a sharp decline and is closely trailing Okinawa in the country. For those wondering, a total of 8018 units of Hero Electric scooters were sold in September 2022. This means that the brand noticed a 23.46 per cent decline on a month-on-month basis as it sold 10476 units in August this year.

Ather Energy retained its fifth spot despite racking up its best-ever monthly sales of 7435 units in the country. Ather is now enjoying strong demand in the country after the launch of the Gen 3 Ather 450X electric scooter. The new Ather scooter not only offers a strong real-life range of 100 km on a single charge while the performance too is better than before. The brand is also expanding its physical footprint by opening up new experience centres in new cities like Mumbai, Ranchi, Kolkata and Rajkot.
TVS iQube also brought in significant sales for the brand and helped TVS sit comfortably in the sixth spot. It registered a total sales volume of 4418 units in August 2022. The Bajaj Chetak also saw a spike in the demand and the brand sold a total of 3202 units in September, up from 2687 units sold in August.

Revolt continues to post negative growth and the total sales volume dipped below the thousand-unit mark in September 2022 after the brand sold only 837 units of the scooter in the country. Pure EV also showed a decline and sold only 751 units in September as compared to 875 units in August 2022. Tork Motors was no different and sold only 48 units in September 2022.
