Toyota Hilux Electric Concept Unveiled - Check All Details!

The Toyota Hilux is a well-known name in the market and is known for its robust and capable package. Toyota first made its debut 60 years ago and was launched in the Thai market. The brand recently showcased the new Toyota Hilux Revo BEV and the IMV0 concepts in the market. Both these iterations are underpinned by the IMV platform and will be offered with a new electric powertrain. While the brand is yet to share the official specifications of the upcoming Hilux electric concept, here are all the details we know so far.

Toyota Hilux Electric Concept Revealed

To start with, these new iterations of the pickup were revealed to mark the 60th Anniversary of the Hilux in the market and are likely to make debut in late 2024. The brand however is yet to share the official specifications of the new powertrain but confirmed that the new IMV0 will enter into production next year. The concept is said to be designed to support economic growth and mobility for all.

Furthermore, the new Toyota Hilux electric concept is based on the single-cab pick-up variant and features a closed off-grille with slated design elements, trapezoidal fog lamps assembly and angular headlamps. The DRLs have been incorporated into the headlamps. The side profile is dominated by body-coloured side mirrors with integrated turn indicators, dual-tone alloy wheels, and a charging slot behind the front left wheel. The rear design however is plain and simple and features a flat tailgate with vertically mounted tail lamps.

In the Indian market, the new Toyota Hilux is offered with a 2.8L diesel engine that churns out a peak power output of 204 bhp and 420 Nm (MT)/500 NM (AT) of maximum torque. This engine can be had with a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox option while the 4X4 setup is offered as a standard part of the package. This engine boasts strong performance and off-road capabilities.

The new Toyota IMV0 concept is likely to spawn a range of affordable cars, trucks, and vans. The brand shared that it can be customized into a standard cargo bed, emergency response vehicle, outdoor camper, and more. It also gets a front bumper with three separate units, squarish headlamps connected via black cladding, a differently designed front grille, a flat bonnet, body-coloured ORVMs, roof rails, and alloy wheels.

The brand recently introduced the new Toyota Innova Hycross in the country to take on the rivals like the Kia Carnival in India. The new Innova Hycross is offered with two powertrain options – 2.0L NA petrol and 2.0L strong hybrid powertrain. This new MPV is offered with a long list of features, a sunroof, an extremely comfortable cabin, and an updated design. The brand will soon be officially launching the MPV in India and will soon share a detailed price list of the new Innova Hycross.
