While SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos continue to attract a lot of buyers, a number of new midsize SUVs will soon be launched in the Indian market. Upcoming Midsize SUVs In India
Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder
The new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will soon be launched in India and compete with other midsize SUVs with its strong powertrain options. The Hyryder will be the first SUV in the segment to be offered with a strong hybrid powertrain while a 1.5L mild-hybrid powertrain option will also be on offer. In addition to this, the SUV also boasts a strong road presence with its aggressive and sharp styling that is complemented by elements like full LED headlights, large grille, LED tail lights, machine-cut alloy wheels, and more. The cabin too not only looks premium but is also offered with many features including a wireless charging pad, steering mounted controls, semi-digital instrument console, automatic climate control, push-button start, cooled glovebox, a large sunroof and more. The new Urban Cruiser Hyryder also scores high in the safety department and gets almost all the bells and whistles expected at this price point.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara
The upcoming new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be the most expensive offering in the brand’s line-up and is similar to the Urban Cruiser Hrydyer save for the cosmetic changes that differentiate the two SUVs. Just like the Urban Cruiser Hyryder, the new Grand Vitara will also be offered with two powertrain options – a 1.5L mild-hybrid K15C petrol motor and a 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine. The SUV will be offered with multiple gearbox options for the buyers to choose from. In addition to this, the new Grand Vitara will boast an extensive features list in addition to a comfortable and premium cabin. Other notable highlights include a smart exterior design and a long features list that will help the Grand Vitara give strong competition to the rivals like the Hyundai Creta.

Next-Gen Mahindra XUV500
While Mahindra launched the new XUV700 a few months ago, it is said to be working on the next-gen model of the Mahindra XUV500 that will be offered to take on the rivals like the Creta and the Seltos. This new SUV will be offered with a fresh design and a new 5-seater cabin. In addition to this, it will also boast a strong features list while the powerful engine options will also help it have an edge over its rivals. The Indian carmaker is yet to announce the official launch timeline of this new Mahindra XUV500 in the market and is expected to price it extremely aggressively to spice up the competition. Needless to say, this new SUV is expected to be offered with features like all LED lights, automatic climate control, a digital instrument console, a new touchscreen infotainment system, a wireless charging pad, a large sunroof, push-button start, connected car tech features, and more.

Citroen C3 Aircross
After a successful launch of the new Citroen C3 in India, Citroen is expected to launch a new midsize SUV by the first quarter of 2023. This new midsize SUV will share its underpinnings and mechanical components with the C3 but will be larger in dimensions. The SUV however is expected to offer more powerful engine options and multiple gearbox options for the buyers. The features list too will be impressive and will help the new C3 Aircross have an edge over the rivals. The exterior design will be similar to the other global SUVs in the brand’s line-up and will boast a strong road presence.

Jeep Jeepster
The new Jeep Jeepster was recently spied testing and is said to make its global debut somewhere next year. The new Jeepster will be the most compact Jeep SUV and will boast a VFM price tag in addition to a long features list. The new Jeepster SUV might make its Indian debut in late 2023 and is expected to be offered with both, petrol as well as diesel engine options. The new Jeep Jeepster will also offer a premium cabin with commendable build quality and segment-leading features. More details however are yet to be shared by the American carmaker.
