The buyers are also preferring SUVs over sedans in most of the price brackets and to utilise this as an opportunity, many car brands are currently all set to introduce new SUVs in India. With more than ten new SUVs scheduled for launch in the next few months, here is a list of the top 5 upcoming SUVs in India that you should check out.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will take on other midsize SUV rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. The new Toyota Urban Cruiser will boast strong looks in addition to large dimensions. The design is complemented by sleek LED headlights at the front, a bold bumper design, and strong character lines on the body panels. Furthermore, the new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will be offered with attractive colour options while the buyers will have an option to choose from four variant options. Inside, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder will be offered with an extremely premium and well-laid-out dashboard. To begin with, it gets a dual-tone colour option and gets features like a large touchscreen infotainment system, semi-digital instrument console, automatic climate control, connected car tech, push-button start, a large sunroof, and auto-dimming IRVMs. In addition to this, you will also get features like multiple airbags, a wireless charging pad, front seat ventilation, and more. The powertrain options comprise of a 1.5L smart hybrid K15C petrol engine and a 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine. Both these engines will offer strong performance and impressive fuel economy figures. The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will be the first hybrid car in the segment and is based on Suzuki’s Global-C platform.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara

The new Maruti Grand Vitara will be the first strong hybrid petrol car in the brand’s line-up and will be sold via the NEXA network. The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara shares its underpinnings and powertrain options with Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder but is distinguished by a different exterior design and exclusive colour options. For starters, the Grand Vitara will boast a bold front fascia and will offer a strong stance. The Grand Vitara not only looks premium, but in addition to this, will also challenge the rivals like the Hyundai Creta, and the Kia Seltos with its strong package. On the features front, the new Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara offers all the bells and whistles including features like automatic climate control, a large touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a wireless charging pad, a large sunroof, and more. The car is also available with similar powertrain options as the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. These include a 1.5L smart-hybrid K15C petrol engine and a 1.5L strong hybrid petrol engine.

Hyundai Creta Facelift

The Hyundai Creta is currently the best-selling SUV in the segment and challenges the rivals like the Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, upcoming Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara. The Korean carmaker is soon expected to introduce the new Creta facelift in India and will equip it with many segment-first features, a new design, and an updated cabin. The new Hyundai Creta facelift will be the second Hyundai car after the Hyundai Tucson to be offered with Level 2 ADAS and will offer advanced driving aid features like autonomous braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic assist, and blind spot assist system. It will also boast features like a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument console, automatic climate control, air purifier, ventilated front seats, powered seat adjustment for the driver, a cooled glovebox, and a wireless charging pad. It also gets features like a large sunroof, auto-dimming IRVM, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, and connected BlueLink technology. No changes will be made to the powertrain options being offered with the Hyundai Creta and the SUV will continue to be offered with three engines – a 1.4L turbo-charged petrol engine, a 1.5L NA petrol engine, and a 1.5L diesel engine. All these engines are offered with manual as well as automatic gearbox options. The cosmetic changes include a new front grille, new and sleek LED headlights, aggressive bumpers, and new alloy wheels. More details are yet to be shared by the brand.

2022 Citroen C5 Aircross

The Citroen C5 is currently one of the most comfortable premium SUVs in the Indian market and not only boasts a unique exterior design but in addition to this, also offers an extremely comfortable and well-built cabin for the occupants. The new Citroen C5 Aircross will further offer an improved package that will not only look better but in addition to this, will also offer better comfort levels and new features. The SUV is also likely to be offered with updated powertrain options. Once launched in the Indian market, the new 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross will take on the rivals like the Jeep Compass and the Hyundai Tucson. Citroen is also working on launching the new C3 Aircross in India. The C3 Aircross is expected to come to the showrooms by the first half of 2023 and will take on other compact SUVs in the market.

Tata Harrier Facelift

It’s been a while since Tata launched the new Harrier and is now expected to launch the new facelift model in the Indian market soon. For starters, the new Tata Harrier facelift is expected to be offered with an updated design that will be largely dominated by a new front fascia, updated alloy wheels and slight modifications that will be made to the rear design. Inside, we are expecting Tata to offer many new features including a new touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, electric parking brake, seat ventilation, powered seat adjust, push-button start, auto-dimming IRVMs, a large sunroof, and more. We might also get an updated dashboard layout. With the launch of the Tata Harrier facelift, Tata might also launch a new turbocharged petrol engine along with the existing 2.0L diesel engine. Needless to say, the buyers will have an option to opt for as well as automatic gearbox options. In addition to all these updates, the new Tat Harrier might also get better safety features and tech including ADAS. Once launched, the Tata Harrier facelift will take on the rivals like the MG Hector, Jeep Compass, Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, and other premium midsize SUVs. Tata is however yet to share more details about the official launch timeline of the new Tata Harrier facelift in India. The Indian carmaker might also launch the new Tata Safari facelift along with Tata Harrier.
